We designed and built our client's dream deck, turning their Nob Hill garden backyard in San Francisco into a true lookout point. From the top of the deck, the view opens up over the city rooftops to the bay.

The deck sits within an established garden, so the design worked with what was already there. Wide, layered steps rise from the stone courtyard to the upper platform, and the existing wooden pergola and climbing plants now frame the deck like an outdoor room.

Each step has a picture-frame border that gives the edges a clean, finished look. String lights under the pergola carry the space into the evening, and the planting beds on either side keep the garden feeling green and private.

The result is a backyard designed for relaxing, taking in the view, and making the most of every moment outdoors, right in the middle of the city.
